Open Source Engineering, LLC provides engineering consulting services focused on the investigation, evaluation, and rehabilitation of existing buildings. Our team has extensive experience assisting community associations, property managers, and building owners with complex structural and building enclosure projects.
The firm is led by Hiruy Dafla, P.E., Principal Engineer, who brings more than two decades of experience in forensic investigation, assessment, and remediation of existing buildings. Under his leadership, the firm has guided numerous structural and building envelope repair and rehabilitation projects from initial investigation through construction.
Our work regularly includes conducting detailed building assessments, developing repair strategies, preparing construction documents, assisting with contractor selection, and providing construction phase services to ensure successful project implementation.

A successful rehabilitation project, requires the proactive stewardship of Community Managers, Board Members/Building Owners, Residents, as well as the knowledge and experience of Engineers and Contractors.
